Mobility cart gives former electrician Uthuman a new lease on life

For years, Mr. Uthuman earned his living as an electrician, climbing power poles and carrying out demanding work to provide for his family. It was a job he loved and one that gave him pride and purpose.

But everything changed in an instant.

While carrying out his duties, Uthuman fell from a power pole and suffered a severe spinal injury. The accident left him battling immense physical pain and uncertainty about the future.

As he struggled to recover, another setback followed when he suffered a stroke that affected the lower part of his body.

The combined impact of the spinal injury and stroke left him unable to walk independently.

A man who had spent years moving freely from one worksite to another suddenly found himself dependent on others for even the simplest daily activities.

“I never imagined that one day I would be unable to move on my own,” Uthuman said.

 “The accident changed my life completely.”

Unable to continue his work as an electrician, he faced the difficult reality of finding another way to support himself and his family. Determined not to surrender to his circumstances, Uthuman started a small poultry business.

The venture gave him hope and a source of income, but it came with its own challenges. With limited mobility, caring for the birds, accessing supplies, and moving around the poultry project became a daily struggle.

Despite these obstacles, he remained determined to keep going.

His fortunes began to change after he came across the Ramadhan Foundation's charitable activities on social media.

Inspired by the foundation's efforts to support vulnerable people with mobility aids, Uthuman reached out with a simple request: a mobility cart that could help him regain some independence. That request was answered.

 The Ramadhan Foundation recently donated a mobility cart to Uthuman, giving him a new sense of freedom and renewed hope for the future.

The cart now enables him to move around more easily, manage his poultry project, and participate more actively in community life.

“I am grateful for this support,” he said.

 “This mobility cart will help me reach my poultry project without depending on other people all the time. It has given me hope again.”

For Uthuman, the mobility cart is more than a means of transportation. It represents resilience, dignity, and the chance to rebuild a life that was dramatically altered by tragedy. It is also a reminder that even in life's darkest moments, hope can arrive on wheel.
